Punjab Education Foundation (PEF): Quality education is only possible with trained and skilled teachers - Chairman PEF Qamar Ul Islam Raja A schedule of 1400 trainings is underway for PEF partner schools - Chairman PEF Provision of necessary facilities to students is imperative to quality education. MD PEF believes that a trained teacher can impart quality education, so a 1400 training schedule is being chalked out by PEF. This will provide teachers an opportunity to improve their skills every three year. It was said by Chairman PEF while addressing a coordination meeting with school partners in Multan. This was first meeting of a series of three meetings. He further opined that to retain good teachers, partners should pay their staff market competitive remunerations. Applauding the role of teachers’ Chairman PEF said that these trained and skilled teachers are our asset and we will continue to build their professional skills. While responding to the queries and suggestions made by the school partners. Chairman said that curriculum is developed to meet the new challenges and advancement in the field of science and technology, so it is also of great importance that teachers are trained to meet these new challenges. Chairman assured the partners to overcome the delays in Quality Assurance Test and will employ foundation’s resources to further improve the QAT system. PEF Managing Director - Mr. Tariq Mahmood also addressed at the occasion and said that it is our duty to provide quality education in clean and child friendly environment. He pressed the need of basic facilities in schools, like provision of clean drinking water, toilets and clean and healthy environment. As many as 1500 school partners attended the meeting, and shared their feedback and suggestions directly with senior management at PEF. Partners admired the PEF's role in provision of free basic education in remote and deprived areas. Senior PEF official like Deputy Managing Director (Support Service) colonel (Retired) Mr. Imran Yaqub, Director (M&E) Mr. Athar Rauf were also present in meeting.
