                    Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the people of Pakistan and Turkey are very close and deeply love each other. Lahore is the second home for Turkish people and the Lahorites have very close relations with Turkish families living here. He said that holding of Turk Culture Festival in Lahore is a good omen. This festival seems like a ‘mini Turkey’ where Pakistani people will have an opportunity to know about various aspects of Turk culture and living style.
                   He expressed these views while addressing an inaugural ceremony of 2-day Turkish Cultural Festival held under the aegis of Pak-Turk Businessmen Association at a local hotel, here today. Turkish families residing in Lahore, male and female students of Pak-Turk school and college and a large number of people participated in the festival. The earning of this festival will be spent on the construction of Girls Branch of Pak-Turk School.
                   Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that people of both the countries have an opportunity to come closer on the platform of Pak-Turk Businessmen Association through holding of a cultural festival in Lahore and cultural contacts will be further promoted at people level through socialization. He said that Turkey is the second rapidly progressing economy of the world and economic activities will be promoted in Punjab province through increasing economic contacts with Turkish business institutions. The Chief Minister said that provincial government has decided to set up knowledge city on Ring Road Lahore for providing education of international standard to the youth. He disclosed that the administration of Pak-Turk school has shown its interest in setting up a state-of-the-art university in knowledge city for facilitating Pakistani students. He said that this university will be at par with the world renowned British Oxford and Cambridge Universities with regard to its standard of research and education and Pakistani students will be able to get education of international standard within the country.
                   Shahbaz Sharif said that besides improving the cleanliness system and transportation through business relations between Punjab government and Turk companies, assistance is also being sought for modernizing the parking system in provincial metropolis. He said that the living standard of the people will be enhanced and best services will be available to them through investment by Turk companies in infrastructure of Punjab province. He said that public welfare projects have been started with the help of expertise and technology of Turkish companies. Talking with regard to bus rapid transit system, the Chief Minister said that the elite travelling on costly vehicles will be surprised to see the commuters travelling by high quality metro bus service.
                   Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited various stalls set up in cultural festival. The visitors evinced keen interest in Turkish foods and traditional products and termed this festival a pleasant addition in the cultural activities of Lahore. At the end, the Chief Minister distributed shields among various stall holders.
