Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that suitable site has been
selected on Lahore Ring Road for setting up of the most modern Information
Technology University of Pakistan. This university is being established with
the collaboration of Turkey’s Middle East Technical University. The first
campus of this university will be set up in Arfa Software Technology Park for
the facilitation of students. This university will set new educational
standards in Pakistan with regard to providing education of international level
in computer and other science subjects.
This
was stated by him while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the website of a
computer company CAR4U regarding traffic management. Chairman Punjab
Information Technology Board Dr. Umar Saif and a large number of girl and boy
students were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that Punjab
government is setting up Daanish Technical University for providing
international standard computer education to Pakistani youth. Punjab cabinet
has already given approval in principle to the establishment of this university
while the formal approval will be sought in the next cabinet meeting, he added.
He said that availability of computer technology experts will help Pakistan for
improving the infrastructure of governance. Similarly, these experts by
designing modern software with the help of software houses will be helpful in
earning foreign exchange for the country. While lauding the website designed by
Sakib Berjess Tahir for providing guidance in traffic management, he said that
Pakistani youth is talented and will put the country on the road to progress
and prosperity by ridding it of problems. He said that precious lives are lost
in the accidents and there is a dire need of such safety programmes for
avoiding accidents. He directed Sakib Berjess Tahir to plan such safety
projects in consultation with education, transport and other concerned
departments which will help educate the people regarding safe driving and
saving the human lives in accidents on the roads.

Berjess Tahir, while speaking on the occasion, said that lives and properties
are lost in accidents every year in Pakistan which can be avoided by adopting
safety measures. He said that information has been provided in the website
prepared by CAR4U Company regarding averting traffic accidents, getting driving
license, road safety and other matters. He said that impressed with the vision
of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, this website has been
developed for the guidance of the people and they will benefit from this
education system programme free of cost.
