PEF allows free summer camps for students

Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has allowed its partner schools in 29 districts to hold free summer camps for the students. However, these schools cannot receive any fee from the students. The purpose is to help the students to improve their didactic performance.
This was stated by PEF-Director Foundation Assisted School programme Nadeem Masood while addressing the partner schools management of 11 districts at Children Library Complex, here today. The ceremony was arranged by the Punjab Education Foundation to distribute Student Information System software CDs among schools. He told that partner schools are also allowed to operate two campuses besides allowing inter-tehsils migration of students. While giving a detail of PEF initiatives to facilitate the partner schools, he told that online complaints lodging facility is also introduced and all complaints are dealt with within three days. The purpose is to improve mutual relationship with the partner schools, he added.
Earlier, PEF- Director IT Usman Jarral also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the features of SIS software. He told that this facility will help to maintain centralized data of all the students enrolled in partner schools as impersonation of students will be totally eliminated. He asked the school owners to benefit from the PEF initiatives of ensuring quality education for their students.
Management of as many as 300 partner schools of Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Chiniot, Okara, Pakpatan, Mandi Bahauddin and Jhang took part in this activity that were later given SIS CDs.
PEF-IT department has today completed the SIS CDs distribution campaign in 29 districts.

The Punjab Education Foundation will distribute Student Information System (SIS) software CDs among partner schools of Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Chiniot, Okara, Pakpatan, Mandi Bahauddin and Jhang in a ceremony to be held at Children Library Complex, Aiwan-e-Tijarat Road, today (May 31st) at 9-00 AM.
SIS is new software designed by the PEF-IT Department to facilitate partner schools for storing and managing their students’ data along with pictures to keep the examination system fully transparent.
PEF-IT Department started to give out Student Information System (SIS) CDs among partner schools from May 20 and up till now, the exercise has been completed in 18 districts of the province.
With the distribution of SIS CDs in 11 districts today (May 31), the exercise has finally been completed.

PEF capacity building training concludes

Lahore, May 28:
A two-day “Team-Work and Capacity Building” workshop, arranged by the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) for its employees, has concluded today at the head office.
As many as 20 Officers and Assistants from different departments participated in it. The training workshop was arranged in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Management, whose Senior Trainer Aslam Sohni acted as workshop coordinator.
The purpose of the training was to improve necessary skills like capacity building, decision making and team management so that PEF employees could work better.

PEF to distribute SIS CDs in Lahore on May 31st

Lahore, May 27:
Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) will distribute Student Information System (SIS) CDs among partner schools of 11 districts on May 31st at Children’s Library Complex, Lahore at 9-00AM.
Schools from Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Chiniot, Okara, Pakpatan, Mandi Bahauddin and Jhang will be given SIS CDs.
PEF has already completed distribution of SIS software in 16 districts. SIS is launched by the PEF to computerize data of all the partner school students to ensure transparency in Quality Assurance Tests.

PEF gives away SIS CDs in 14 districts
Lahore, May 26:
The Punjab Education foundation (PEF) will distribute Student Information System (SIS) software CDs among partner schools of Lodhran, Bahawal Nagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan Districts at a two-day ceremony to be held at Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Bahawalpur from May 27. PEF-IT Director Usman Jarral will give a detailed briefing to the schools management about its utility.
PEF has already completed the distribution of Student Information System (SIS) software CDs among partner schools of 14 different districts in Punjab. SIS software will help to update students’ data besides preventing any fudging of statistics. It will provide access to PEF to electronically check daily attendance of students.
SIS, innovative software to facilitate partner schools for storing and managing their students’ data without much effort, has been brought out by the IT Department of Punjab Education Foundation. PEF-IT department is distributing these CDs in districts where school administrators are sensitized through practical demonstrations.
PEF has completed distribution of SIS CDs in Attock, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Vehari, Layyah, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh and Multan districts and the whole operation is expected to be completed by May 31.

PEF Law Officer to monitor child rights
Lahore, May 25:
The Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani has deputed PEF Law Officer Uzma Saeed to act as Focal Person for the “Children Complaints and Redressal Cell” at head-office in Lahore. She is entrusted to monitor the partner schools working so that the Punjab government’s policy of discouraging corporal punishment in schools could be fully implemented in these institutions.
Furthermore, PEF’s regional coordinators in Multan and Rawalpindi offices will also look after child rights situation in their respective regions.
It may be added here that PEF has signed a MOU with Plan International Pakistan to promote and protect child rights in the partner schools and to deracinate the menace of corporal punishment in schools. In this regard, composite institutional mechanism will be developed in collaboration with Plan International to help the students to learn without any fear in schools and teachers will also be sensitized about their role in this regard.
Punjab Education Foundation is committed to foster the importance of rights of the children in the society so that a child-friendly culture could dwell upon.

Commencing from Rawalpindi Division, Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has formally launched the Student Information System (SIS) Project in the province of Punjab. Basic idea to develop Student Information System is to make easy to retrieve and manage required information about partner schools and their students. SIS will also help the Foundation Assisted School (FAS) team to collect, process, filter and report data in a comprehensive and trouble-free manner. Moreover, this system will also help to easily retrieve all information required and communicate it in a pre-defined reporting system to the PEF management.
This was the gist of a departmental meeting of Punjab Education Foundation which held under the chairmanship of PEF-Chairman Raja Muhammad Anwar, at his office on Friday. PEF-MD, DMD (Ops) and Director (IT) were also present.
The meeting was apprised by the Director (IT) Mr. Usman that SIM will help to maintain standardized students data of all the districts in a centralized manner for strategic planning by evaluating the statistics received from 2000 Partner Schools situated in 29 districts. “It will save time and increase productivity in districts and school offices with automatically consolidated data.” Besides that, it will also help to eliminate any fudging of figures by any partner school, the meeting was told.
Director IT informed that PEF is providing SIM software CDs and User Manual booklets to the partner schools after orientation seminars which are being held at the Divisional level. The exercise is expected to be completed by May 31st. SIM is designed and developed by PEF-IT team.
PEF-Chairman expressed his satisfaction over successful launching of the project as now PEF can electronically check the daily attendance of all the partner schools through this software. This is one big step towards transparency, he observed. PEF is committed to improve its working for efficient delivery of services and promotion of private-public partnership, concluded the Chairman.

Punjab Education foundation (PEF) has completed distribution of Student Information System (SIS) software CDs among partner schools of 13 different districts in Punjab. SIS will help to streamline students’ data besides preventing any fudging of statistics.
PEF-IT Department officials today distributed CDs among the partner schools of Vehari, Layyah, D.G. Khan, Muzaffargarh (Alipur, Jatoi), Rajanpur districts at District Council’s Raza Hall, Multan; while the schools in Multan and Muzaffargarh (Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh) districts will be given these CDs tomorrow. SIS, innovative software to facilitate partner schools for storing and managing their students’ data without much effort, has been brought out by the IT Department of Punjab Education Foundation.
In this connection PEF-IT department is distributing these CDs in districts where school administrators are sensitized through practical demonstrations.
